It's Pinata Time!

Taylor's Great Grandma turned 92 on Oct.10 and the WHOLE family was there to celebrate. Taylor was the first to hit the pinata, she almost cracked it open, so we had to give the other kids a chance at it too.

We've Reached Month #2!

We're in month number two and are beginning to experience some new joys. Although Kristina has experienced Taylor crack a few smiles, I haven't been so lucky. I did, however, catch this one adorable shot.

Taylor's 2 month check-up went great, aside from Taylor's shots, mommy did fine too. Kristina brought along her sister for moral support and it turned out all three of them ended up crying when the vaccinations were done. Who likes seeing their child in pain? Hopefully it gets better with each visit. Taylor now weighs 11lb, 10oz, 23 in. Dr says she is in the 75th percentile for her weight. All in all everything looks fine and we couldn't ask for a better visit.
Starting at week 4 Taylor started to get real fussy especially around the witching hours of 4-8pm. When you're a new parent trying to sooth your child and NOTHING works you can't help but feel helpless. In the beginning Kristina was having a hard time with it but it seems to be getting much better now. We ended up changing her formula to the Gentalease to help with the gas and that seemed to help a little. We hear by the 9th or 10th week the fussiness goes away.....can't wait.

Hanging out with some of her new friends.

Taylor's First Halloween!

We survived our first Halloween...all three of us! It was Taylor's first experience with the ghouls and goblins of the night, and our first time going out without her. Grandmommy and Grandpoppy Simon were wonderful babysitters, allowing us to get out for a few hours to enjoy the evening. Considering we got a late start with the thing called "parenthood", and the fact that we feel we've aged quite a bit due to a lack of sleep, Kristina and I thought these costumes expressed how we've been feeling lately.

Dancing with Rocco

People often ask how Rocco is doing with Taylor. The answer is, GREAT! We've been sure not to neglect him and try hard to give him the same kind of attention he required from us before her arrival. Slowly over the weeks, we've allowed him to get closer and closer, satisfying his curiosity. He often greets her with a few big sniffs and a handful of licks on her arms and feet. I caught this photo of the two of them dancing the Tango on her bedroom floor.

Taylor Goes Shopping

Cabin fever got to us, so at Taylor's request, we hit the malls. Going out with a newborn for the first time was interesting. We had to plan everything out, making sure Taylor had everything she could possibly need. "Babe, got extra diapers, wipes and formula? Don't forget her blankets and pacifier. Oh, and be sure to bring the camera, bottled water and extra clothes". Did we miss anything?

Taylor at 4 weeks

We've made it through the first month, and not without a few challenges. Her first month was met with a bout of Jaundice (nothing that a couple of light therapy blankets couldn't fix), a clogged tear duct and a cold. Thankfully these were only minor inconveniences and are quite common with newborns. Now it's on to month #2...who knows what's in store for us.

We discovered that a quick bath at night helps her to
sleep up to 7 hours at night. Thank goodness!

Splish Splash Taylor's Takin' a Bath

Taylor's first official bath consisted of a little soap, some warm water and a whole lot of love.

Although she looks a little freaked out, she's really enjoying this spa-like experience.
